Outcome-Based strategic planning that will lead you to fulfilling
your vision, overcome resistance to change,
and maximize lay leadership capacity.
Our strategic planning initiatives are based on a clear articulation of the schools mission and goals and uniting all the constituencies to meet them. We will work with you to develop an outcome based strategic plan that will be effective in building a framework to identify and solve the strategic issues facing your school.
Because no two schools are alike, plans are created based on the unique state and needs of the institution. This includes the systems, timelines, format and content of the plan.
We will create a Strategic Planning Process that includes:
1) Identification of constituencies and stakeholders
2) External and Internal Evaluation (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities Threats)
3) Organizational appraisal
4) Assess organizational capacity to meet goals (Situational Analysis)
We will create a strategic plan that includes:
1) A vision statement that paints a word picture of a desired future state.
2) A mission statement that identifies purpose and is congruent with the vision statement.
3) A statement of core values that articulates what motivates the community and how they behave one with another.
4) A set of goals that operationalize mission and close the gap between the institution's current state and its
future vision.
5) Identification of critical issues that must be addressed.
6) Strategies that work toward achieving each goal.
7) Objectives that advance each strategy.
8) Outcome measurements that are indicators of success.
Leading Organizational Change:
Unfortunately the best plans and efforts can fail because of the difficulty to change or resistance to change; (“We tried that before and it didn’t work”. “We don’t have the time.” “It may have worked in other schools but we are different.”) We include steps that address potential obstacles such as:
- Assembling a coalition to lead the change
- Identifying the new thinking and skills needed for change
- Planning and creating short term wins
- Consolidating improvements
- Institutionalizing new approaches
- Building on strengths and a vision for the future
Governance and Leadership:
A key to improved organizational performance is an effective board. Our goal is a board of accomplished and talented individuals, engaged in high level activities applying their knowledge and experience to meeting the school’s challenges. We guide the lay leadership in forming effective boards by
Creating clear policies and procedures
- Focusing on central and critical issues
- Results oriented with defined timetables
- Measures of success
- Engagement of internal and external constituencies
- Strategic Planning
